Lockout
Is your lockout program complete ?
The purpose of lockout is to control hazardous energy (eg, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc.) associated to equipment or machinery to prevent inadvertent release of energy, and therefore all subsequent injuries at maintenance or repair work.
Article 185 of the Regulation on health and safety defines lockout obligations in Quebec.
Apply lockout devices. Put a hasp on each break points and padlock on each exposed lock. It may be necessary to add a tag. In the event that a break point is not designed to be locked, the addition of appropriate lockout devices must be provided.
